HOW TO APPLY FOR A JOB
Please note: From 1 May 2012 some job adverts will have the option to "Apply Online". For these vacancies, only online applications will be accepted.

Postal or Hand-delivered Applications

Step 1: Obtain a Z83 form. This form is available at any Western Cape Government office, or you can download the Z83 form here.

Note: National and Provincial Parliament and municipalities use different application forms.

Step 2: Carefully read through the whole form. This form is used to identify suitable candidates for interviews.

Step 3: Fill in the Z83 form completely. You need to complete the form accurately and legibly by filling in Section A to Section G.

Step 4: Complete the Declaration Section. Read through and sign the form; your application will not be considered if you have not dated and signed the form.

Step 5: After completing the form, remember to attach your current CV (five pages maximum) together with certified copies of your ID, academic qualifications and proof of other requirements as indicated in the advertisement.

Step 6:Post or hand deliver your completed Z83 form and all the required documents to the address listed in the advertisement

  • All information will be treated confidentially and will be assessed to find the suitable person.
  • The Western Cape Government encourages all disabled candidates to apply.
  • If you are not a South African citizen, then you need to add your passport number. All personal details must correspond with the details in your ID or passport.
  • Any job applications sent by fax or e-mail will not be accepted. All job applications, including Z83 forms, CVs and certified documents, must be posted or delivered by hand to the address listed in each advertisement.
  • Not all applicants will be contacted. You will only be contacted for an interview if you are shortlisted after the selection process.
  • If you have not been contacted within three months of the closing date, please consider your application as unsuccessful.

Online Applications

You can now apply for Western Cape Government jobs online! Look for the blue "Apply Online" block at the top of the job adverts.

Not all jobs will have the online application option. For the moment you can only fill in online applications for jobs advertised by the Western Cape Government's Corporate Service Centre (CSC).

You can complete the application straight away, or register first. By registering, you'll be able to save your application and complete it later

Registering for Online Applications

Step 1: When you've found a post you'd like to apply for, simply click on the blue block containing the words "Apply Online". This will take you to the registration page.

Step 2: During registration, you will need to provide a username and your e-mail address. A password will be sent to you via e-mail.

Step 3: As soon as you get your password, you will be able to apply for Western Cape Government jobs online.

How to Apply Online

Step 1: Log in to your account (though you can complete the application without logging in).

Step 2: Carefully read through the job advert as well as the online application form.

Step 3: Complete the online application form. Make sure that you fill in all the required fields.

Step 4: If needed, upload a copy of your CV. Make sure that your CV is maximum five pages long.

Step 5: After completing the form, click on the "Submit" button.

Step 6: You will receive an e-mail confirming that your application has been received.
