Minister Theuns Botha
Theuns is leader of the DA in the Western Cape, and also a businessman and farmer from Riversdale in the Southern Cape. He was a local government councillor for ten years and, for four years, executive mayor at the former Langeberg Municipality, now known as the Hessequa Municipality.

He became a member of the Western Cape Provincial Parliament in 2004, and held the position as leader of the official opposition for five years. Theuns was elected as the DA Western Cape's chairman in 2001, and as acting provincial leader in 2002. In March 2003, he was elected DA provincial leader. He is a member of the DA Provincial Council and Executive Committee, as well as the DA Federal Council and Executive Committee.
