The Cape Biotech Initiative (CBI ) was launched in 2002/2003. It is an umbrella forum aimed at creating a biotechnology industry hub in the Western Cape. The CBI represents the interests of industry, academia, government, finance, the public and all other role players in the field of biotechnology.The Initiative won the tender to establish a R150m incubator in terms of the National Biotechnology Strategy. |
