Melkbos Cultural Centre
DESCRIPTION:
Melkbos Cultural Centre, just south of Melkbosstrand, is very popular and is situated on the Atlantic coast in the metropole 32 km north of Cape Town. It is surrounded by dunes and protected, rare and indigenous strandveld and renosterfynbos veld types. There is access to the beach and panoramic views of Robben Island, Table Mountain and Table Bay.

Tariffs:

Overnight Users: Tariffs per person per night for 2012: R35/Non-residential course participants R5 per person per day. A minimum of 40 people is required per booking.

Day Users: Tariffs for day users for 2012: R11 per person. A minimum of 100 people is required per booking.

A non - Refundable deposit of R500 is payable upon confirmation of bookings.

Schools or cultural groups organising a cultural programme or workshop may hire one of the seven cultural facilities in the Western Cape in Melkbosstrand, Stellenbosch, Simondium, Paarl, Oudtshoorn and Koekenaap. The spectacular surroundings, in which each of these facilities is located, are themselves an inspiration to creativity.

Almost all these facilities offer conference and accommodation facilities. Bookings are for groups of 40 or more and a deposit is applicable.

Weekend bookings are for Fridays from 16:00 to Sunday at 14:00. The facilities are not available for only a part of the weekend, including Fridays.The Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport administers these facilities on behalf of the Western Cape Cultural Commission (WCCC).
